Jeff Cox (born February 24, 1983 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is the chief meteorologist for WGXA FOX-24, the FOX affiliate in Macon, Georgia. He joined FOX-24 in April of 2005 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in May of 2005. He married his wife Kacey in May of 2006.

[edit] Early life
Jeff lived in Asheboro, North Carolina until 1991 when his father was transferred to Asheville, North Carolina while working for the North Carolina National Guard.
Jeff graduated from TC Roberson High School in 2001 and attended college at UNC-Asheville from 2001-2005.

Jeff graduated from UNC-Asheville in May of 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science in Atmospheric Science, with a concentration in weather forecasting.
While at UNC-Asheville, Jeff was the lead forecaster for the school's Weather Forecast Line, campus Radio Station, "The Blue Echo" and the campus newspaper, "The Blue Banner." Jeff was actively involved in the university's Ambassador program as well.

Jeff is a full member of the American Meteorological Society.
Jeff also spent time behind the camera before moving to Macon, Georgia. He worked in production at WLOS-TV in Asheville, North Carolina. He also had the opportunity to intern in the weather department at WLOS as well. His supervisor, and now one of many mentors, during his internship was Mike Bettes, who is now an on-camera meteorologist with The Weather Channel.
