Jeff Cowan (born September 27, 1976 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) is an alternating winger currently playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL.
On March 6th, 2007, in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, a bra was thrown on the ice after his 2nd goal of the evening, his 2nd two-goal game and the 5th goal in three games. According to interviews on the Team 1040, the official radio station of the Canuck, this was the first time it had ever happened in an NHL hockey game. The next day, the station held a naming contest for a nickname for Cowan, and a name for this such event. The winning entries were too many and all of them are listed above, while the event name is now known as the "Brassiere Cheer". If this catches on, the Canucks would be then the creators of two traditions, the other being Towel Power.
