[edit] Signature
My current signature is " Perfecto " and I've set it at "raw". I keep it short so as not to confuse anyone editing the source. I'm happy you asked. -- Perfecto 22:02, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your Commons image
Hi, I saw your note at Wikipedia_talk:Help_desk#Help_with_images_from_the_Commons. The image is showing up, you just changed the file extension by accident. The file at commons is a jpg so the file here is a jpg too. See: Image:Lily3.jpg
BTW, it's best if you can put your image in as many categories in commons as possible, to help other people find it. You could start with Category:Dogs.

[edit] Nice signature
Hi. Sorry I missed your note. Glad you got your signature worked out. - Tεxτurε 15:34, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Monobook.js
So you still only have one script in your monobook. For Live Preview, you simply need to go to User:Pilaf/monobook.js and copy-paste all that code into your own, before refreshing the browser cache. jnothman talk 08:47, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiversity
"I'm not sure how this free course thing works, so please tell me at my talk page" (source)
The "free course thing" is very much in flux. The Wikimedia board of directors feels that Wikiversity should not be a collection of online couses. In my view, Wikiversity should be a place that promotes learning through good wiki editing. For a "cell biology course" this would mean that participants in the course work on (edit) wiki articles that will provide a learning experience for the participants. This would create conditions for "learn by doing" and help improve Wikipedia at the same time. So I guess if there are aspects of biology that you want to learn about, we could find some related Wikipedia articles and start working on them. --JWSchmidt 14:20, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- "covering genetics and cell biology. How about some articles on Genetics?" I have two ideas. First, I have been wanting to do some work on this page. There are several interesting genetics issues related to the cadherin cell adhesion proteins. There have been some studies in which particular cadherin genes were eliminated from mice. Notice that there is a red link for protocadherin on the cadherin page. The protocadherin genes are interesting[1],[2]. Second, there has been an attempt to use genetic approaches to identify genes that are important for Alzheimer's disease such as the presenilin-1 gene. There is an interesting interaction between presenilin-1 and some of the intracellular proteins that can associate with cadherins [3],[4]
- Those were just the first things that came to my mind. There are othr aspects of genetics and cell biology that you might be more interested in. --JWSchmidt 19:31, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- Regarding how Wikiversity free courses work ... you might like to help us figure it out at: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikiversity:Learning Another useful thing would be to jump in as a friendly tutor, mentor, lab rat/participant, etc. at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikiversity:School_of_Biology so non-specialists like myself do not waste too much of the advanced instructors time with rudimentary stuff. This might be easily accomplished by starting a School of Biology help desk to help sort out newbies or visiting participants from other schools. Last, wander by the http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikiversity:School_of_Engineering occasionally and do a few random edits just to help simulate life and make it attractive to our next prospective engineering participant or returning enthusiasts checking to see if we have launched yet. Surely the civil, ecologicial, informatics, and genetic engineering schools could use some biological insights if any participants start showing up regularly. Hope to see you around soon and frequently! user:lazyquasar
[edit] List of villains
Yeah, it's a big mess right now. It used to be a straight alphabetical list, and now it's in transition to a list organized by medium. The transition isn't going particularly well, though — it's slow, and one of the main contributors isn't a native speaker of English so a lot of his work needs to be done over again. As for the size of the list — it used to be even bigger before I split List of historical people portrayed as villains off. (Once we finish the organization we can talk about further splits, but for now we're just trying to finish getting it into sections.) —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 16:39, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Please vote to keep my image on Wikipedia. You may voice your opinion on whether or not to have the image deleted at [Dec 10th images]. I also wanted to let you know that it looks like my WBC personal subpage will remain on Wikipedia.--JuanMuslim 1m 22:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Logos Re-Categorization
Your work in creating subcategories for is admirable. However, unless you change the copyright tag on the individual image files from logo, the image will appear both in the logos category and in the subcategory you created. Unfortunately, this doesn't help to decrease the size of the logos category. I have created a subcategory for radio logos (called ), and I have created a new copyright tag for the images (called Template:Radiologo). All of the images with this tag go into the radio logos subcategory without also going into the logos category. --Hillrhpc 22:04, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your sig
Just so you know, some people may not like the fact that you use an image in your signature. It has been said to create unnecessary server strain. Just thought I'd make you aware. See you around. --LV (Dark Mark) 16:38, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
