I thought I read somewhere once that the Imperial Palace was built on the site of the Jedi Temple, or that the temple had become part of the palace complex.

Hi, just a brief question with regard to the Jedi Temple. My sense is that the text of the Wikipedia entry is misleading as the High Council Tower is separate and distinct from the Temple Spire. The "HCT" is one of the four smaller spires, whereas the Temple Spire is the central and tallest spire. The "HCT" is, clearly, the home of the High Council, whereas the Temple Spire has three functions - functions which are not altogether compatible;

1. Place of Contemplation 2. Near the base of the spire - site of flight deck for Jedi Starfighters/ Gunships 3. From ROTS - Site of Jedi War Room - either mid-spire or higher.

My sources for this distinction are Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, Star Wars: AOTC, I am a Jedi Apprentice, and The Making of Revenge of the Sith

Any thoughts?? --JohnSW 15:26, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dark side energy

Unless I'm totally forgetting, I thought the New Jedi Order books had something about the temple being built on a wellspring of dark side energy. I looked it up here to refresh my memory, and there was nothing!

Request: someone who's recently read the book, could you add this/what its implications are? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DomenicDenicola (talkcontribs).

Sounds like you are referring to the rebuilt Jedi Temple, and the death of Irek Ismaren. Unfortunately, I can't help you beyond naming names.

[edit] Archives

I recommend merging the archives into this article, since the archives are a part of the temple. It would make for a fine section. I'll go ahead and be bold (since it's pretty straightforward). — Deckiller 04:44, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
