Jean Vuarnet

Jean Vuarnet (born January 18, 1933 in Le Bardo, Tunisia) is a French former Alpine skiier.

The absolute highpoint of his career came in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, where he took Olympic gold in the Downhill.

Previously, he had won bronze in the same event in the 1958 Skiing World Championships in Bad Gastein.

After he had retired from active competition, Vuarnet became vice-president of the French skiing association from 1962 to 1971.
