Jean-Christian Michel is a composer of music inspired by classical music of Johann Sebastian Bach and jazz. He plays the clarinet, piano and church organ.

Jean-Christian Michel has received 3 diamond discs, 7 platinum discs and 10 golden discs. He is a "Full Member" of the SACEM (association of composers and music publishers to protect copyright and royalties). He received the prize for "Sciences and Culture" at the Sorbonne, Paris, France, awarded by a jury consisting of six Nobel prize winners.

The famous drummer Kenny Clarke played and recorded with Jean-Christian Michel during 10 years.

On the other hand, Jean-Christian Michel is a climber. He was to climb the "first" of Tawesche, in the Himalayas with Yannick Seigneur, the famous conqueror of Makalu.
