[edit] Biography

Jealousy Curve originally formed as the songwriting and recording brainchild of high school friends Steven LaFashia (guitar, keyboards) and Michael Leavy (lead vocals, guitar), who attended school together in Springfield, Pennsylvania. Initially playing as a duo, the band played its first full band show to a capacity crowd on May 30, 2003 in Media, Pennsylvania, quickly garnering a local buzz and dedicated fan base. Building upon their growing following in 2004 with relentless local and regional shows, the band was simultaneously recording its work in its basement studio.

[edit] Life As An Addict

January of 2005 saw the release of the band's debut full-length album, Life As An Addict. Completely self-produced, recorded and mixed against all odds, LAAA's 10 tracks are a testament to the band's diehard, DIY attitude and is enjoying both domestic and international sales and exposure, in addition to regional FM attention, with great support from the band's hometown stations WMMR 93.3, the sadly defunct Y100, 98 Rock in Baltimore and a growing number of regional college stations. Two of the album's tracks, "The World is You" and "Appreciated", were also licensed for use and included in the soundtrack to the direct to DVD Cruel Intentions 3 in May 2004 on Sony/Tristar, garnering legions of loyal fans who were instrumental in bolstering LAAA's internet pre sale totals in the 3 months preceding its 1/25/05 release.

[edit] Touring

Jealousy Curve was fortunate to win the 2005 Zippo Hot Tour contest, which further introduced the band to new markets and fans while on tour with The All-American Rejects and The Academy Is.... Upon the completion of 2005, the band embarked on their own tour down the east coast and across the gulf states, culminating with three shows at SXSW in March of 2006. The band spent most of the spring and summer working on material for their second album. In late September they then embarked on a 6 week, 20 state tour of the US, returning to Philadelphia in late November 2006.

[edit] Sophomore Album

The band is currently working in their studio outside Philadelphia writing and recording material for their 2nd album, which is slated for a late 2007 release. The band will play select live dates as they record.
