"Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" is a pop music song written by British production team Stock Aitken and Waterman for Kylie Minogue's debut album Kylie (1988). It was produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman, and received a mixed reception from music critics. The song was released as the fourth single in the winter of 1988 and was a top five hit in the United Kingdom, debuting at number eleven before climbing to number two and remaining there for three weeks, becoming the first artist in the history of the British charts to have four top three singles from one album. In the United States and Australia the song was also known as "I Still Love You (Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi)". The songs title is French for "I Don't Know Why".

"Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" was supposed to be released as a double A-side with "Made in Heaven", but it performed so well on its own that the plans to release it as a double A-side single were changed. "Made in Heaven" was released as the single's B-side and also was written and produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. A remix of the song was included on many of the single releases. A promotional video was produced for "Made in Heaven", which might explain its inclusion on the Greatest Hits 1987-1997 compilation. The video solely involves Minogue dancing in front of a bluescreen with various images flashing behind her.

[edit] Chart performance

In the United Kingdom, the single debuted at number eleven on the Singles Chart before climbing to the number two position and staying there for three weeks. The single missed out on the number one spot by less than 500 copies, but Minogue became the first artist in the history of the British charts to have four top three singles from one album, with the release of "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi".

Elsewhere the song did not perform as well, with the song barely making the top ten in most countries. The song reached the top ten in Belgium, Finland, Hong Kong, Israel, New Zealand and South Africa. Release in the United States and Canada by Minogue's North American record label, the song failed to make an impact in either country and did not make an appearance on the singles charts.
