Presented here is a photo of the Julien Dubuque monument. Dating from the late 1890's, Julien Dubuque - the man who is regarded as the founder of the city of Dubuque, Iowa - is buried underneath this tower. This photo was taken a few feet west of the tower, and shows the tower and the river beyond. The benches and the wooden railing around the monument are recent additions, having been placed there within the last few years. This is a photo that I had taken in June of 2004.
