My background includes five years as a magazine editor - a job which I very much enjoyed. Currently, I am working in research and policy analysis - a job that I love and which fits very well with my education and interests. However, I do miss the magazine work - and that is why I write and edit Wikipedia articles, as time permits. In line with my interests in music, these articles have been on women singer/songwriters, most of whom are Canadian, and most of whom also happen to be from British Columbia.

I enjoy working in the Wikipedia community, and have found other Wikipedians to be very helpful and supportive. I am always happy to see others making useful additions to the articles. Sometimes I get a bit discouraged by vandalism to the articles, but I have been impressed at how quickly and effectively the problems have been addressed by the administrators.

[edit] Articles

I have worked on and am helping to maintain these articles:

Alexz Johnson + articles linked to this, e.g., Instant Star

Alana Grace

Alexz Johnson is well-known from her lead role in Instant Star. I first found out about Alana Grace from the "Listeners Also Bought" section of the iTunes listing for Alexz Johnson. These are definitely two of the best singers out there.

As time permits, I am also working on some articles on other women singer/songwriters, with a focus on Canadian talent.
