[edit] Edits to IFAW

Hello, I noticed that you recently increased the ammount of info on the IFAW. However, the article reads a bit like an advertisement, something that Wikipedia is not the place for. Since you seem to know a lot of the subject, it might be nice if you could try to rewrite the article a bit, but so that it complies with the guidelines?

In reply to your message on my talkpage: I'm hardly an expert on writing good articles, but a good way to start might be reading parts of the NPOV policy. Also, it is generally discouraged for people who are (part of) the subject of an article to edit said article, since we are all humans and we have a tendency to look upon ourselfs favorably. However I can fully understand that your organisation wanted to improve the article (it was a tad small before your edits). Read some of the featured articles that the community has produced. It might give you a sense of the best style of writing. In general, don't use any positive or negative words when describing a subject (this is what I noticed first in the IFAW article). Saying "organisation X does good work" breaches NPOV. Describing the actual things they do is fine, but avoid giving value judgements (somebody else may think that saving animals is just wasting money that could be spent on saving humans for example).
