[edit] Glad to help
I'm glad I could help you out. To be honest, I'm not sure how Stalwart got on my watchlist, I think it was while looking at various radar articles Cobra Dane and Cobra Judy I found USNS Invincible (T-AGM-24) had no article. I looked at the only other similar ship with an article, that being Stalwart, and found it was in bad shape, so bad it was almost deleted. So I did infoboxes for both articles and added some links and some brief info largely copied from public domain Navy sources. It's sad that an article about a real ship can nearly be deleted when other articles about fictional or silly things are rabidly defended. As for the Mississippi articles, I kind of have a thing for bridges and lighthouses so I like to improve those articles, the bridges articles offered a chance to learn something new about the various river bridges.
I've learned not to give out too much information about myself on wiki, but I will say I was an FC on an Aegis cruiser out of Mayport during the mid '90s. We did some drug ops missions down by Honduras for a few months, but I don't remember much about those. If you think the Deliberate force article is bad, read the Kosovo War article. It talks about how microwave ovens and gas stoves beat NATO. Those articles are hornets nests though, I certainly won't kick one of them. Some of the articles named for US operational names are being called propaganda names so they get moved around to satisfy one point of view or another. I would also be remiss if I didn't thank for you're service in Iraq, too. Certainly exponentially more dangerous than what I did in the 90s, helping bust dhows smuggling Iraqi dates, many thanks. --Dual Freq 02:08, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Numismatic related categories
Hi,
I have questions about your recent change on a certain numismatic related categories/articles. In most cases, you put them in Category:Numismatics, Category:Exonumia, and Category:Coins. Before your change, the cat structure looks like this
Money / | Numismatics | / | \ / Exonumia | Currency | | Coins/Banknote | Commemorative coins
So a lot of the categories you changed actually fall into Category:Commemorative coins. Generally, it is not recommended to put an article/category in a category and the category's direct ancestor. See WP:SUBCAT. In addition, commemorative coins have legal tender status, while exonumia, by definition, "is the study of coin-like objects such as token coins and medals". Please understand that I know your intention is good so that's why I would like to talk to you first than doing a massive revert. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 02:20, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
My reason for putting commemorative coins in Cat:exonumia is because the exonumia article says coins used for commemoration are exonumia. I don't like making changes on things that aren't in my comfort zone, but the fact that the exonumia category doesn't have all the necessary articles in it, forced my hand. Someone needed to put all the articles that are exonumia, in it. --JAYMEDINC 14:03, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- In that case, the category Commemorative coins should be placed under Exonumia, which you did. But articles under Commemorative coins should be left alone, because their categories Commemorative coins is already a member of Exonumia and Coins. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 08:22, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] US State Related Ships
Thanks for your support, but they moved the discussion to here after we defeated them once. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_January_4#State_ship-related_categories If you can put in a speedy keep it would help. --71Demon 02:04, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 January 4. Don't discuss it on the category talk page. -Will Beback · † · 02:10, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:RMtalk
I reverted your edit on Template:WP:RMtalk because otherwise your vote would be transcluded in all RM discussions - which I believe is not your intention. Just a note to let you know, probably you made the edit by mistake. --John Seward 04:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fort Bell/Kindley Field Changes
Hsallo...thought I'd copy-and-paste this here.
[edit] As author of this article, I must point out
...that Fort Bell was never the name of the Airfield. The first part of the base created was Fort Bell, which housed army engineers and civilian builders who built the airfield. The army kept the title Fort Bell to refer to those areas of the base OTHER than the completed field, which was titled Kindley Field (operational from 1943). Whether Kindley Field was seen as an element of Fort Bell, or...as the largest piece of real estate, and the functional part of the base, once construction was finished, a neighbour is difficult to surmise from the available references. In any case, the title of this article in now blatantly incorrect. It would be better to title it Kindley Field, if only one name must be in the title.

[edit] Redirects and Categories
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Ships#Redirects_.26_Categories Looking for your opinion --71Demon 18:54, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- I came up with this solution. Category:Republic of Vietnam Navy ships I believe function shouls trump looks, it solves the problem. I just wish it was prettier. Bad thing is I don't think Wiki will come up with a solution, because ships are one of the few this will happen too. What I like about it is, the Category:Republic of "X" Navy ships has the correct names for her ships in it. --71Demon 23:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Exonumia/Numismatics
I notice you've been putting {{Numismaticnotice}} into some article talk pages that already have exonumianotice. Since exonumia is a subclass of numismatics, all exonumia articles are part of the numismatics project, but are not being rated for now (not enough interest from the project, but if you'd like to set up an exonumia subproject, or assessment effort, I'd be happy to help you get started). Some articles may be incorrectly tagged, but no articles should have both tags. Ingrid 18:53, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
