Jay Howell

Jay Canfield Howell born November 26, 1955 in Miami, Florida was a Major League Baseball Pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds (1980), Chicago Cubs (1981), New York Yankees (1982-84), Oakland Athletics (1985-87), Los Angeles Dodgers (1988-92), Atlanta Braves (1993) and Texas Rangers (1994).

He helped the Dodgers win the 1988 World Series, the Braves win the 1993 National League Western Division and the Rangers win the 1994 American League Western Division.

He was named to 2 American League All-Star Teams (1985 and 1987) and the 1989 National League All-Star Team.

He currently ranks 56th on the Major League Baseball Career Saves List (155) and 67th on the Career Games Finished List (360).

In 15 years he had a 58-53 Win-Loss record, 568 Games, 21 Games Started, 2 Complete Games, 360 Games Finished, 155 Saves, 844 ⅔ Innings Pitched, 782 Hits Allowed, 335 Runs Allowed, 313 Earned Runs Allowed, 57 Home Runs Allowed, 291 Walks Allowed, 666 Strikeouts, 19 Hit Batsmen, 31 Wild Pitches, 3,564 Batters Faced, 38 Intentional Walks, 8 Balks and a 3.34 ERA.
