[edit] Career
Jay-J started his musical career as a guitarist in Rock and Roll bands and gradually shifted to performing as a DJ in the mid 80's. After several years working in nightclubs in San Francisco, Jay-J started producing music on his own. In 1998 Jay-J Formed Moulton St. Studios, and began working with a variety of DJs and house music producers, including Chris Lum, Miguel Migs, and Julius Papp. His work, and the work of others at Moulton Studios, are credited with being a primary driving force and influence in the development of the "West Coast Sound" of house music. In May 2005, Jay-J left San Francisco and moved to New York, where he has launched another record label, Shifted Music. Currently, Jay-J has a syndicated radio show "Shifted Sessions" which can be heard online and on Satellite XM radio.
