Jaws of Death is the final episode of Season 1 in I Shouldn't Be Alive. It is about a naturalist who gets lost in the middle of nowhere in the African Savannah.

A naturalist named Greg Rasmussen, who tries to save painted dogs is one day called out to search for a black rhino that went missing earlier the day. He goes on his small aircraft and seraches for rhino. On his way, something goes wrong with the aircraft and he crashes. About a half-hour later, he wakes up and finds gasoline leaking on the aircraft and his face. He quickly reacts and crawls away from the crash. He is afraid the aircraft might explode. He later finds out the pain he's in and discovers a swelling in his feet. He is too weak to reach over and take his work boots off. He finds a thorn tree and leans up on it, but it's still not enough. He finds a thorny stick and starts plucking the strings from the holes in his boots. When he gets that done, the boots are still stuck on his feet and he has to do a more painful ordeal - shove off his shoes. He takes a rotten stick to put in his mouth to take away some of the stress but it breaks on him, because he bit down too hard. After, he finally

gets the boots off. It took Greg about 2 hours. Later, he endures a herd of elephant and lions. Meanwhile, his friend back at base calls for a search party, but they don't find him. Now Greg had to live through the night. One of the worst animals to come across comes and leaves, thanks to Greg's knowledge on animal behavior. The next day, the search party goes on again, and a helicopter spots him and saves him. He spent a couple of months in hospital and now saving painted dogs again.
