Javier Herrera

Javier Herrera (born 04/09/85 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball player, currently on the Oakland Athletics' 40-man roster. Herrera plays outfielder and is considered a highly touted prospect in the A's organization.

After being drafted by Billy Beane in the infamous "moneyball draft" in 2002, Javier Herrera played in Rookie League until 2003, and then was juggled around in the A's minor league systems for the next few years. As of February 2007, he is on the Athletics' 40-man roster, and has a chance at making the roster for the 2007 season.
