Javad Tabatabaei

Dr. Javad Tabatabaei (also Tabatabai ) is a Persian political philosopher, historian and a distinguished university professor.
Javad Tabatabaei studied law at Tehran University. Then he shifted to philosophy and did his doctorate works at Sorbonne University. Javad Tabatabaei was a professor of philosophy at University of Strasbourg as well as Tehran University. He was also a visiting scholar at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
He is one of the most influential member of Iranian intellectual circle. Javad Tabatabaei contributed significantly to understanding of western philosophy in Iran. He is working on a project called Persian modernism.
