Jasoosi Dunya (The Spy World) is a best-selling series of Urdu spy novels written from 1952 by Ibn-e-Safi.

Among his first novels, the series started two years earlier than his Imran Series. The main characters of Jasoosi Dunya are Colonel Faridi (Ahmad Kamal Faridi) and Captain Hameed (Sajid Hameed ).

Colonel Faridi is a tall, muscular and very handsome man. He is from a noble family, son of a nawab, is very rich, living in a big mansion and drives a Cadillac (in earlier novels) and a Lincoln (in later novels). He works in the police only to satisfy his instinct of solving mysteries and not because to make a living out of it. He has a very strong moral character, he doesn't drink, keeps himself away from women and is very disciplined. Sometimes he bears the code name of Colonel Hard Stone given to him by his assistant Captain Hameed. Jasoosi Duniya is Ibne Safi’s first best-selling Urdu spy novel series. The first novel, Dilaer Mujrim (The Brave Criminal) was published in March 1952. The central idea and theme of this novel was taken from Victor Gunn’s novel Ironsides Lone Hands. However, the main characters Inspector Faridi and Sergeant Hameed were Ibne Safi’s own creation.

As mentioned by the author in the introduction of Zameen Kay Baadal, the plots of Purasrar Ajnabee, Raqqasaa Ka Qat'l, Heeray Ki Kaan, and Khoonee Patthar were also adopted from various English novels. The characters of Professor Durrani from Khaufnaak Hangaama, and Chimpanzee and The White Queen from Pahaaroan Ki Malikaa, were also borrowed from characters found in English literature. The rest of Ibne Safi’s novels have original plots and characters, conceived by the author himself.
