Jason "DK" Wright— also known as D.K., is a Bronx native poet. Participant and winner of local New York City & Westchester Poetry Slams.


During his recent travels, DK has performed alongside The Watts Prophets, Last Poets, and other notable artists. He wrote his first poem in the 3rd grade after being influenced by his childhood books and Highlights magazines. He wrote more poetry as high school student at Mt. Vernon High School, becoming a serious lyricist. He was President of the poetry club and went on to have his own local television show, "Jason's Talent Spotlight". He later did poetry workshops during the summer at camps where some teens wrote some poetry as well. With rookie cards in his poetry collection like "Inside", "Black Statistic", and "What's neXt". The future For Jason "DK" Wright looks mighty bright. As the glow of his personality shines from a dreary past, he shows no loss of hope in becoming one of the best poets. His hardships in life applied the pressure he needed to make his work 'Objects of Desire…'."

• 2004 NAACP Silver Medal Winner • received 1st Place Trophy for New York State Career Poem 2005 • noted for depicting his life and morals through poetic stories • received "Honorable Mention" for writing "Blunty Said LSD", along with other intriguing pieces about the urban community, credibility and political status of minorities

Other Names -Jason Wright's illfamed nickname, DK, changed from "Demolition Kid", due to his levels of damage on his own skating equipment as a kid, to an ironic link to his date of birth. "D" the alphabets 4th letter and "K" its 11th letter, standing for April 11th. The interesting twist on the "4/11" has made him known by the another alias "Info" for giving the "411" in his poetry…
