Jason McGill

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jason McGill is the Managing Director of York City, an English football club founded in 1922 based in York. Currently the club is playing in the Conference National.

His role at the club is to co-ordinate the Board and ensure its business strategy is implemented.

McGill successfully negotiated the purchase by the club of its stadium from the former owners and secured sponsorship from Nestlé Rowntree, the chocolate manufacturer, one of York's largest employers.

He now owns 75% of the club, this involves him making a £1m investment. However, he will receive £500k back from the club as part of the deal, at the same time as potentially profiting from the sale of Bootham Crescent as and when it occurs. This means that the regular claims he is making a £1m investment is possibly wrong. It is only approximately £500k in the long term.

His sister is on the Board of York City FC. as Communications Director.

He is also Managing Director of J M Packaging Ltd based in Malton.
