Jason Karmanos

Jason Karmanos (Born in Orchard Lake, MI) is the Assistant General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL.
He is youngest of Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos' three sons.

Named Assistant General Manager of the Hurricanes in April 1998, Karmanos assists General Manager Jim Rutherford in player evaluations, contract negotiations and player movements. His other responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hockey club, the marketing/creative services department and CanesVision. Karmanos also serves as an Alternate Governor for the Club, attending regular meetings of the National Hockey League Board of Governors.
He won the Stanley Cup championship in 2006 with Carolina.

After playing youth hockey in the Detroit area with Compuware, Karmanos played college hockey for Harvard University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors.
Jason Karmanos, who attended the Pittsburgh Penguins' training camp upon the conclusion of his collegiate career in 1996, had his professional career cut short when he suffered an eye injury while playing for the Raleigh Ice Caps during the 1996-97 season. Upon his retirement from hockey, Karmanos worked for Robertson Stephens and Company, an investment bank located in Boston.
