Jason Garfield

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jason Garfield (born in Connecticut on August 9th, 1974) is a juggler and entertainer, and also the founder and president of the World Juggling Federation (WJF).

Garfield can be considered the inventor of the concept of "sport juggling," promoting that juggling should also be regarded as a form of sport. He disagrees strongly with the belief that juggling is something only performed by clowns or other circus acts. Garfield's stage performances can often be seen as a mixture of stand-up comedy and demanding juggling routines. He is openly critical of jugglers he sees as relying on unchallenging routines to entertain, occasionally performing parodies of specific acts, and is one of the most controversial members of the juggling community.

Garfield has won the International Juggling Association (IJA) Championships three times.

During 2004, Garfield also was the trainer of Vova and Olga Galchenko.
