Jason Derek Brown

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jason Derek Brown is a fugitive currently wanted by the FBI for first degree murder, armed robbery and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

[edit] Details

On November 29, 2004, Brown shot an armoured guard multiple times in the head with a hand gun. He subsequently fled with a mountain bike through an alley with a bag of money. The victim, Robert Keith Palomares, died at the scene. Fingerprints were found on the mountain bike, which had been abandoned in the area and these were positively identified as Brown's.

On the night of the murder, Brown left for Henderson, Nevada where he checked into a motel. The next morning he left for Las Vegas where he took out his black Cadillac Escalade and replaced it with his BMW. Later that day he arrived in Orange County, California, where he is known to have made several short stays with family and friends. He stayed here until December 6, 2004 and this is the last day anyone knows of his whereabouts.

On January 16, 2005 police recovered his Cadillac Escalade in a long stay parking lot in Portland Airport, Oregon.

On December 13 Brown sent a large package to his brother and when his family knew about it, they notified the FBI (they were now co-operating with the police). It contained a set of golf clubs that belonged to Brown's brother, Brown's laptop and one of his mobile phones, and his warm weather clothing.

He may be in Mexico now but another possibility is in Western Canada where he liked to vacation.

[edit] Personal

On a personal level, Brown was an extravagant spender and owned many expensive vehicles, notably an off-road jeep, cars and a fishing boat. He enjoyed water sports and fishing and enjoyed going to parties.

Jason Brown served as an LDS missionary in the France Paris mission from 1988 to 1990.
