Jason Boland & the Stragglers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jason Boland & the Stragglers is a Country Music quintet formed in 1998 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, home of Red Dirt music. Their music is iconic of the Red Dirt sound such as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney Larue, Bob Childers and others.
The Stragglers are Harrah, Oklahoma native Jason Boland (lead, guitar), Roger Ray (pedal steel, lead/rhythm guitar), Brad Rice (drums/backing vocals), and Grant Tracy (bass). Additional record contributions goes to Noah Jeffries on banjo, mandolin, and guitar.
The Bourbon Legend was released on Bruce Robison's Sustain Records label in late 2006. The title is telling because Boland has had to deal with a drinking problem, but says he is sober.
