Jarrod Saltalamacchia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jarrod Scott Saltalamacchia (born May 2, 1985 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is a baseball player who currently plays for the Mississippi Braves. He is commonly referred to by his nickname, Salty.
Saltalamacchia was selected by the Braves in the first round of the 2003 June free agent baseball draft. If he were to reach the majors, he would hold the record of having the longest last name in major league baseball history.
Saltalamacchia plays catcher but the Braves already have Brian McCann performing admirably at the position, so this means that Jarrod will either have to learn a new position, or he will have to settle for being a backup with the Braves or be traded if he is going to have a substantial major league career.
