From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jarrett Bellini is an American writer and humorist.
[edit] Career
In December 1995, while attending Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, Bellini began writing for the youth-oriented Alt. section of The Arizona Republic. Shortly after getting on board with his home state's largest daily newspaper, he fell into an unexpected role as a regular humor columnist. His popular columms lasted until June 1997 when he left the desert for American University in Washington, DC. There, he studied communication and sociology, and continued writing humor. Bellini also produced and performed with DC's highly-regarded live comedy troupe, Mission: IMPROV-able. Several geographical changes and odd jobs later, Bellini found himself in Atlanta where he joined CNN. In June 2006, he began writing and hosting a CNN.com video podcast called The Gryst.
[edit] Personal
Bellini was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and is the younger brother of Logo news anchor Jason Bellini. A rabid soccer fan, he is an enthusiastic supporter of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. of the English Premier League and closely follows Major League Soccer in the United States. He plays bass guitar for Barn Door Revival, a popular street-corner blues and bluegrass trio based in Atlanta, Georgia, where he currently lives and works for CNN. Beyond his contributions with the Cable News Network, Bellini continues to write and travel the world, and his work can be found at www.JarrettBellini.com (The Pure Life).
