Wikipedia:Japan-related topics notice board/Request for images

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Every prefecture's article should have a picture. History, Culture and Tourism are good places. Economy can be good, too. From capital city, or better yet, from another place. I've put photos in many prefectures, but they're hardly works of art, and some are duplicates of photos from other articles. If you can add another, or replace them, please feel free! Ideas: Castles, temples, shrines, gardens, national parks, natural scenery, traditional arts and crafts, performing arts, festivals, statues, corporate headquarters, landmarks, sunsets... Though most of village/town/city article lacks images, some of them have good images(cf. ja:新発田市. But I think it is not the time to move them from Japanese Wikipedia yet. Many images are untagged on Japanese Wikipedia and I can't predict when we will start tagging campaign on JA WP. If we put images, it is better for us to begin after the tagging campaign on JA. But if you can't wait, you can start to browse those articles. ;) --Aphaea 19:42, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the information about Shibata. I did not take the photograph, but I did add Shibata Castle to List of castles#Castles of Japan.
What about the perfecture / sub-perfecture maps on those pages? Can they be used on English wikipedia? I was going to move one for Ooma until I saw the confusing copyright notice. --Kunzite 00:59, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ice Sculpture

A new article, Ice Sculpture, could use a photograph. Does anyone have any pictures from Sapporo or another winter carnival?

How about commons:Sapporo Snow Festival? --Masao 12:37, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
