Shimotsuki was an Akizuki-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her name means "11th Month" (Month of Frost, Frost Moon).
On 25 November 1944, Shimotsuki was torpedoed and sunk by USS Cavalla (SS-244) 220 miles (410 km) east-northeast of Singapore ( ) with heavy loss of life.
