The Murasame (村雨), not to be confused with the later Murasame class destroyer, was a Shiratsuyu Class destroyer sunk overnight March 6, 1943 in the Battle of Blackett Strait. None of its crew survived. Murasame means "Passing Shower", it is the name given to the lengendary sword featured in the Japanese classic Nansō Satomi Hakkenden.
