This short "biography" is incomplete and misleading. For starters, if one is to write about his political career, it should be included that he used to be a communist cq. maoist. Of course, anyone that supports Marijnissen and would like him to be taken seriously would not like to include this in a bio on him and his political past. For now, for a complete picture on Marijnissen use google and forget this article as it is to date.

  • Additionally this article should mention the awards he has received from the Dutch press and Member of Parliament (MP) alike for being the best MP. For what it's worth: i don't know about his past if it's communist/maoist or not, but any complete article should include his political development. However, i don't like the statement above "anyone that supports Marijnissen and would like him to be taken seriously would not like to include this in a bio on him and his political past." for far too many reasons to mention.
  • The Socialist Party and Jan Marijnissen indeed have a maoist past. Altough this episode may not be covered by this wikipedia article as it should be, the suggestion that it is covered up is incorrect. The SP website (http://www.sp.nl/) is open about the past and Jan Marijnissen himself has been elaborating on it several times on Dutch national television in the months leading up to the 2006 elections. • The wikipedia article on the Socialist Party does cover the issue. Jaho 19:40, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
