Janne Niskala

Janne Niskala (born September 22, 1981, Västerås, Sweden) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft in 5th round as the 147th pick overall.

Niskala is known for his good offensive game of play. He shoots left, is 183 cm (6'0") tall and is weight is 90 kg (198 lbs).

Niskala has played in Finland almost during his entire career with the SM-Liiga club Lukko. But he has also played a few games with the English club Manchester Storm in the 2000/01 season. And in the 2005/06 season he played in with the Swiss club EV Zug. And in 2006/07 he will continue his trip around Europe, this time he will play in Sweden for the Elitserien club Färjestads BK. In Färjestad he is reunited with his former teammate from Lukko, Esa Pirnes.

Even though Niskala was born in Sweden, he plays for the Finnish national team.
