Janne Da Arc (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Janne Da Arc is a Japanese rock band. Its members are vocalist Yasu (January 27, 1975) , guitarist You (July 24, 1974) , bassist Ka-yu (January 21, 1975) , keyboardist Kiyo (June 27, 1974) , and drummer Shuji (November 21, 1974) . Yasu named the group after a character named ジャンヌ・ダルク (Jannu Daruku) in the manga Devilman by Go Nagai.
Their music is usually characterized by a mix of heavier music with pop. They also have heavy keyboard use in their music, which is fairly uncommon in Japanese rock. The band's music is also characterized by each member's proficiency on his respective instrument.
As of January 26, 2007, Janne Da Arc is on hiatus while its members pursue solo projects. See official announcement in Japanese or an unofficial fan translation into English.
