Janice Rhea Reimer

Janice Rhea Reimer (born May 23, 1952) is a Canadian politician and former mayor of Edmonton, Alberta.

Born in Edmonton, Reimer is the daughter of Neil Reimer, the first leader of Alberta New Democratic Party. In 1973 she graduated with a B.A. from the University of Alberta.

First elected as an Alderman in 1980, Reimer was re-elected until 1989 when she was elected Edmonton's first woman Mayor. Reimer was re-elected in 1992 and was defeated by Bill Smith in 1995.

She is married to Dr. Hubert Kammerer, a physician at the Boyle McCauley Health Centre and has two children.
