Janice Erlbaum

Janice D. Erlbaum (August 29, 1969 - ) is a a novelist, poet, comic, and columnist for Bust magazine from New York, New York. Her first book, Girlbomb: A Halfway Homeless Memoir (ISBN 1-4000-6422-8), was published by Villard, an imprint of Random House. A paperback edition was released in early spring of 2007.

Erlbaum writes primarily about her own experiences as a wayward youth in turn-of-the-’80s New York City. More recent work, including her in-progress second book, Volunteer: A Love Story, deals with homelessness, shelter life, and Erlbaum's return to that world as an adult volunteer.

Erlbaum is an alumnus of the famous dot-com flameout Pseudo.com, a member of the Art Stars community, and a graduate of Hunter College and New York University, where she received a M.A. in English/Writing. She lives in Manhattan, NY, with her domestic partner William K. Scurry Jr. and their three cats.
