Jang Keum-song (Korean: 장금송) is the niece of Kim Jong-il by his younger sister Kim Kyong-hee (김경희) and her husband Chang Sung-taek (ko:장성택). Joongang News reported that she died due to ingestion of alcohol following an overdose of sleeping pills, possibly a suicide attempt related to family opposition to her relationship with her boyfriend. She had reportedly refused an order to return to Pyongyang.

So far, the French authorities have not confirmed her death.
