Jana Bellin (b. December 9, 1947 in Prague, Czechoslovakia; nee Malypetrová), chess player, was awarded her WIM (Woman International Master) of chess title in 1969, and WGM (Woman Grandmaster) title in 1982.

She won: British Women's Championship in 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977 (after play-off), and 1979; bronze olympic medal in 1968 with the Czechoslovakian team, and silver in 1976 with the English team.

She is a medical doctor specialising in anesthesiology, and works in intensive care at Sandwell General Hospital, West Bromwich, England.

She is also Chairman of the FIDE Medical Commission, which supervises drug testing of chess players. These drug tests are controversial, because many chess grandmasters object to being tested for drugs, because it is expensive and there is no history of drug abuse by chess players, nor is there any evidence that drugs can improve chess performance.

She was married first to International Master William Hartston, then to Grandmaster Tony Miles, and after that to International Master Robert Bellin. She and Bellin had two sons: Robert (1988) and Christopher (1991).
