Jan O'Sullivan

Jan O'Sullivan (born 1950) is an Irish Labour Party politician. She is currently a Teachta Dála (TD) for Limerick East and Party Spokesperson for Education & Science.
O'Sullivan is currently a TD for Limerick East. She was educated at Villiers Secondary School, Limerick, and at Trinity College Dublin. She worked as a pre-school teacher before becoming involved in politics in 1985 as a member of Limerick City Council.
She was a member of the Democratic Socialist Party until the merger with the Labour Party. O'Sullivan served in Seanad Éireann from 1993. She was elected to Dáil Éireann for the Limerick East constituency in a 1998 by-election following the death of the sitting TD Jim Kemmy, and has been a TD ever since.
