Jan Drda

Jan Drda (April 4, 1915, PříbramNovember 28, 1970, Dobříš) was a Czech prose writer and playwright.

He was a member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. Until the end of his life, he was Chairman of the communist-controlled Union of Czechoslovak Writers.

He is best known for his book Němá barikáda (Silent Barricade, 1946), which presents the Prague Uprising against the Nazis in May 1945.
