[edit] Mending fences
I understand that you are not happy about your article, livesimply, not being accepted for inclusion in Wikipedia. I certainly didn't mean to insult you and I don't think any other editors did, either. We are all volunteers here, just trying to build the best encyclopedia possible. I sincerely hope that you have not been soured on the Wikipedia process, and I hope you enjoy contributing in the future. - Jhinman 03:26, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Please stop
Please stop inserting promotional links for your company. Additionally, the articles at Live simply and Livesimply were deleted as the result of an AFD (please see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Live_simply). Please, please do not recreate them unless the subject of the article has changed drastically. Kuru talk 17:04, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

OK You've convinced me the tag here may have been the wrong one, However I am reading the other comments on this. ShakespeareFan00 19:01, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 18:41, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] your userpage
I am afraid that Wikipedia is not for promoting your products or services and I have removed your advert in accordance with wikipedia guidelines. If you feel that I have done this in error, please let me know and we can discuss this matter further. --Fredrick day 18:47, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Apartment for rent
I've deleted Apartment for rent because the article consisted of nothing more than the title repeated. If you are going to create an article, it is best to first have some content to go with it. Evil Monkey - Hello 20:33, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I see you have recreated the article with more content, but Wikpiedia is not a how-to guide. Evil Monkey - Hello 20:39, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- What I mean is that Wikipedia as a community have decided on a number of things that Wikipedia is not. One of those is an indiscriminate collection of information, whic includes:
- Instruction manuals. While Wikipedia has descriptions of people, places, and things, Wikipedia articles should not include instructions or advice (legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes. Note that this does not apply to the Wikipedia: namespace, where "how-to"s relevant to editing Wikipedia itself are appropriate, such as Wikipedia:How to draw a diagram with Dia. If you're interested in a how-to style manual, you may want to look at our sister project Wikibooks.
- Also, in future, please leave messages on my talk page, otherwise I don't know that you've left me a message. Evil Monkey - Hello 20:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

- In addition, there is the separate issue that the information you are adding to the article is from your website, which states the information is "Copyright 2006 LiveSimply.co.uk ©". [edit] James Robert Riley
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article James Robert Riley, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
- Please also read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia: Autobiography guidelines. CobaltBlueTony 22:01, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Really? Well then, SOME people are too stubborn to know what's a waste of their energies. I actually have a sincere piece of advice for you: if you are really that desparate to have a Wikipedia article, either about you or your website, keep working on those things, and stop wasting your time trying to put the cart before the horse. Once you've honestly acheived notariety, someone will eventually make the appropriate entry for you. - CobaltBlueTony 13:41, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects
Just a note about redirects. You can only redirect one layer, ie:
- Soas --> School of Oriental and African Studies
- The School of Oriental and African Studies --> School of Oriental and African Studies
You can do double redirects, ie
See Wikipedia:Redirect for more information. Evil Monkey - Hello 22:09, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
