[edit] NZ Railway Photos

Hi there James, I've used a couple of your NZR pics on locomotive pages - see DC class (locomotive) (The image probably needs to be cropped) and ADL class (Diesel Multiple Unit) --Lholden 11:14, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NIMT

Is there any reason why you took the EF class picture off the NIMT article? --Lholden 03:29, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

I felt that there was too many images and not enough text; and that the layout of the article looked odd with the picture there too. I think just the map is enough for now. If more text is added -- for example perhaps a paragraph or section dedicated to the electrification of the NIMT between HAM-PN I wouldn't mind the EF photo being added back. [edit] ADK pic

Hi James, Just to let you know, I've uploaded a pic from your Flickr account - a pic of an ADK unit.

[edit] North Auckland Line

I've got to be honest - I dislike what you've done to the North Auckland Line article. Maybe you've got something more planned, as I notice you've made lots of separate edits, but I just don't understand why you've replaced good, flowing prose with a mediocre list, and why you've removed the expandable table listing stations and replaced it with a long list that takes up a lot of page space. Why do you think the current version is an improvement over the old? I'd rather return to what we had. - Axver 07:13, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick reply. I see where you're coming from. I suppose the difficulty in writing prose in a chronological sequence is due to the fact stuff was happening all over the place. The list you've created certainly does give a more ordered foundation upon which to write new prose. I don't know if you wish to do it; if no-one else does, I suppose I'll turn it into prose myself soon, though I'm working on creating articles for all of the South Island lines at the moment (only a few left now!). - Axver 07:29, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia's LGBT Community

Hi, James.pole!
You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome!

You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation!

Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include:

  1. Identifying topics/pages that need attention
  2. Identifying problems that need addressing
  1. Adding the LGBT Template to appropriate pages
  2. Categorizing LGBT pages

Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Glad you're a part of Wikipedia - and Thanks! This invitation posted here by SatyrTN -- talk
