[edit] We're not here to rewrite history ...
Wikipedia is reproduced all over the Web, which means our mistakes spread fast, leading readers to think they're seeing confirmation of something when all they're getting are false echoes. If we want a reputation for accuracy, we need to check our facts and cite reputable sources. Otherwise here's what happens."
I put that here to remind me, first of all. My intention is to fact check anything related to the events of September 11, 2001. Frankly, I expect some resistance. My belief is that some will try to profit from conspiracy theories, while others seem to feel a bit larger for misleading others.
In my view, the sooner we can see, as a society, the facts, near as we can assemble them, explaining why and how agency failures, among other things, failed to prevent what happened on September 11, the sooner the American society will be armed to survive, rather than react, striking out in rage as has been done since 2001.
With some time to spare, I am happy to contribute any way I can, and invite any serious feedback.
Quoting Phil Welch: "Wikipedia is one of the single most important undertakings in human history. If we do our job, future generations will look upon Wikipedia as the cornerstone of the information revolution. If we don't, the world will lose a tremendous resource."
Agreed.
