James I (James Nicholas Adam Crouch) (born 29 April 1950) became the King of Britannica and Grand Duke of Clementi upon the abdication of his mother, Fiona I, on 5 October 1968.
[edit] Birth and family
James I was born His Highness Prince James of Saint Leo. His father was HH The Duke of Saint Leo and HH Pricness Fiona. He was a great-grandson of Joseph II and grandson of HRH The Princess Joanna.
[edit] Succession
At the time of his birth he was a minor member of the Royal Family, and only 12th in line to the throne. Two major events changed his standing. The first was a new Law of Succession, which stated that women and men had equal rights to the throne in 1960 and secondly, Elizabeth I abdicated in favour of her sister, Joanna I rather than her son, HRH The Prince Andrew. This saw James rocket to second in line to the throne. After Joanna I and Fiona I both abdicated, leading to James I's succession, the Law of Succession had to be returned to male primogeniture.
[edit] Reign
The first act of becoming Sovereign is sorting out the Royal Household and asorting the Royal Residences.
