Well, i have not much time, this is why i have done this page in a few minutes. For the essential, it's a paste from http://www.violence.de/ but as the violence is one of the biggest problem of the world and the Prescott's researchs are very well done and very serious, i think at it's better to have this page like it as don't have it.

I will try, as soon i have more time to do a big edit with an original text on Prescott and his work like the consequences of his work. Dominique Michel

If Body Pleasure and the origin of Violence is repersentative of James W. Prescott's work, then I would not consider his studies well done. See http://www.kuro5hin.org/comments/2003/4/23/182233/949/210#210 for why I believe this. Jrincayc 19:48 Apr 27, 2003 (UTC)

I have already responded to your inaccurate criticisms. --Eloquence 02:30 Apr 28, 2003 (UTC)

As have I to your inaccurate criticism criticism ;) I look forward to your replies. Jrincayc 01:38 Apr 29, 2003 (UTC)
Finally got time to redo statistics on the paper. Prescott's statistics are bogus, and he needs more data to draw the conclusions that he did, but with the additional data that Eloquence provided, many of the relationships still hold. Jrincayc 14:24, 4 Nov 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Interpretation

There are people who give a sexual interpretation to the 'physical affection' mentioned by Prescott. Reading his works somewhat more closely, I'm pretty sure this is not what was meant. Maybe this should be clarified in the wikipedia article? Or is that not the place for such things? --Raboof 17:20, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

Relevant quote: Nudity, openness, and affection within the family can teach children and adults that the body is not shameful and inferior, but rather is a source of beauty and sensuality through which we emotionally relate to one another. Physical affection involving touching, holding, and caressing should not be equated with sexual stimulation, which is a special type of physical affection.
