[edit] Edited to make it sound less like an obit

It looked like this article was literally copied and pasted from an obituary. I tried to remove some of the biased phrasing and shortened the long, emotional memorial quotation to help make this article sound a bit more encyclopedic and less like a memorial tribute page.
