Talk:James Hepi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Prior to October 18, 2005, when the trial of Bradley John Murdoch commenced, James Hepi was distinctly non-notable. However, since the trial, his notoriety has increased dramatically. Google currently returns 266 hits on his name listed within inverted commas. Owing to the way that the case is progressing, it is likely that he will become more notable throughout the process of the trial.
I discussed the possible creation of this page in Talk:Peter Falconio disappearance with no response now for several days, and hence created this page assuming agreement.
The reason to create this page is in line with Wikipedia's policy of conciseness of articles, and is an attempt to clean up the Peter Falconio trial. He is becoming the most significant witness after Joanne Lees in the trial and is currently the main focus for the trial (other than Bradley John Murdoch of course).
If Bradley John Murdoch is convicted, this page will be notable in terms of a conspiracy theory. If he is found not guilty, this page will be notable in that it provides a major reason why he was found not guilty. It is therefore certain that this will be a worthwhile page.
I envisage that we have a separate page for the trial (The Queen vs Bradley John Murdoch) and for Peter Falconio, as stated elsewhere. In line with that project, I propose that a link to James Hepi is appropriate.
More information can be included in relation to his date of birth, residence, and so forth. I believe he was from New Zealand, but don't know any more about it. 203.122.225.241 20:50, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Police corruption claim
We really need a pretty reliable cite before we can say things like the following:
An Alice Springs police officer has admitted receiving cigarette butts from James Hepi that were given to her in order to frame Murdoch. The police officer has denied accepting the cigarette butts, extracting Murdoch's DNA from them, or agreeing to frame Murdoch for the murder of Falconio.
I'm removing this from the article until someone comes back with a solid citation. Oh and this guy's definitely notable as a key witness in the Murdoch/Falconio case. Lisiate 02:56, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- There's a cite now that the butts were wanted, but not that it was admittedly for framing, or yet that the defence suggested it. Rich Farmbrough 20:28 1 May 2006 (UTC).
