Jamshid bin Abdullah of Zanzibar

Jamshid bin Abdullah Al-Said (Arabic: جمشيد بن عبد الله) (born September 16, [[1929 in Zanzibar) was the last Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from July 1, 1963 to January 12, 1964. On December 19, 1963,]] Zanzibar received its independence from the United Kingdom as a constitutional monarchy under Jamshid. This state of affairs was short-lived, and in January 1964, he was overthrown. He went to exile to Great Britain.
Jamshid has been married twice, and has seven children:
