Jamie Wyeth

Jamie Wyeth (1946- ) is an American contemporary realist painter, son of Andrew Wyeth and grandson of N.C. Wyeth. He also goes by James Browning Wyeth. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware.

Jamie Wyeth began his art training at age 12 with his aunt Carolyn Wyeth and was eventually instructed by his father Andrew Wyeth. He had his first major exhibition of his work at age 20.

Wyeth's works depict the landscapes, animals, and people from his Brandywine valley and Saint George, Maine homes. He has also painted portraits of notable people such as Andy Warhol, Rudolf Nureyev, and even a posthumous portrait of president John F. Kennedy.

His work is featured in the Brandywine River Museum, Farnsworth Art Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. There is a special exhibition of his work from January 18 - April 8, 2007 at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, TX entitled Factory Work: Warhol, Wyeth, Basquiat.
