James Thomson (footballer)

James Thomson (born 18 February 1988) is an AFL footballer who plays for the West Australian club West Coast Eagles. Thomson was recruited with the Eagles fifth and final pick in the 2006 AFL draft. He was selected as pick 80 overall. Thomson will wear the number 33 gurnsey for the Eagles, made famous by the dynamic pocket foward Phil Matera.
Thomson was recruited from the local WAFL club Claremont. Standing at 194.1cm and weighing 81kg, Thomson can be used as a key defender of foward.
Currently, James is one of the favourites for the 2007 Brownlow medal, despite his hairless legs.
His father is the well known TVW9 (Channel 9) sport presenter Michael Thomson.
