James Thomson (Charterhouse)

James P. S. Thomson, MB MS (London) DM (Lambeth) FRCS LRCP DObst RCOG FBS, Master of London Charterhouse, United Kingdom.

He was a house surgeon at Middlesex Hospital, and a surgeon at St Mark's Hospital, London. Later Thomson was Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Director of St Mark's Hospital for Intestinal and Colorectal Disorders, Northwick Park, Harrow, London.

On his retirement he was appointed Master of the Charterhouse (Sutton's Hospital in Charterhouse), EC1M 6AN, a leading almshouse, and he remains an Emeritus Consultant Surgeon at St Mark's Hospital.

Thomson was awarded a degree of Doctor of Medicine by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1987, and is Secretary of the Lambeth Degree Association.
