James Smith

James Smith is the guitarist for the post-hardcore band Underoath from Tampa, Florida. He began playing guitar in 7th grade and currently plays a Fender Telecaster.

Smith is the only member of Underoath who's attended college. He enrolled in pre-med studies at the University of South Florida before later focusing on criminology, which helped his then-job as an office assistant for the FBI. Smith has said about his job, "The FBI went to all my neighbors' houses asking about me." Smith ultimately left the FBI and school to become a member of Underoath. Prior to Underoath, Smith was in a Christian ska band called Point Blank with fellow Underoath member Grant Brandell. He is engaged and enjoys yoga and baseball."[1]

Taken from the band's official site: "I play a fender telecaster into an orange ad140 twin channel amp head through an orange 4x12 cabinet. I use monster cables and a boss pedal tuner. Its pretty simple just turn up loud and rock!" James is the tallest in Underoath.
